We are a Singapore Headquartered Recruitment Consulting Company. Our client in QATAR is looking to hire a ” Director, Radio Access Network ” for a permanent assignment. The following are the skills required for the position.
Role Overview
Group-level expert resource and leadership in radio access technology, planning, optimisation, issues and trends, including interaction with other network elements.
Core Responsibilities
• Group-level expert resource in radio access technologies, strategy, planning and engineering.
• Drive development of Group-level radio access network technology road maps, architectures and engineering practices with a strong focus on cost efficiency and network performance.
• Support resource for review of operating company strategic plans and budgets
• Support to procurement function for technology issues.
• Support the Cross-Operation Forum Program leadership for radio access technologies.
Qualifications
• Above 12 years full time working experience.
• Engineering degree desired.
• 9 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Previously held position of Head of Radio Network Engineering or Radio Access Technology at a major telecommunications operating company with 2G and 3G accountability.
• Industry training in mobile radio access technologies.
• International experience, preferably in the MENA and SEA region.
• Good knowledge of IP-based technologies and future implications for mobile networks.
• Experience in setting up, running and analysis of various simulations.
• Current working experience with 2G and 3G RAN products from group frame vendors (Ericsson, Huawei & NSN).
• Experience in developing and implementing technology strategies.
Skills Set
Technical Skills
• Vast knowledge of key mobile telecom radio access technologies, including hardware and software components.
• Strong knowledge of network implementation methods and strategies, including configuration, planning and optimisation.
• Knowledge and experience in systems integration techniques, system engineering, systems management, and KPI reporting.
• Ability to translate key aspects of technology innovation,informat ion systems.
• Strong understanding of technology trends, best practices, and management of technology innovation operations.
Soft Skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of cultures in a diverse community.
• Strong leadership and an ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Mature ability to work collaboratively with management teams throughout the organisation and to be seen as a valuable expert resource to be sought out.
• Able to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
